URUGUAY NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM TICKETS

The Uruguay national football team, known as La Celeste (The Sky Blue), represents Uruguay in international men's football and is overseen by the Uruguayan Football Association. Uruguay has claimed four FIFA-organized world titles: two Olympic golds (1924 in Paris, 1928 in Amsterdam) and two FIFA World Cups (1930 and 1950). They won their first Olympic gold by defeating Switzerland 3–0 and their second by beating Argentina 2–1. Uruguay then triumphed in the inaugural FIFA World Cup in 1930, defeating Argentina 4–2 in the final. Their fourth title came in 1950 with a historic 2–1 victory over Brazil in front of a record crowd of 173,850. Uruguay has also won the Copa América 15 times, second only to Argentina, with their latest victory in 2011.

When it comes to top footballing nations, you can’t look past Uruguay. The South American champions have made 14 appearances in the World Cup, bringing home the prize on two separate occasions. 

Closer to home, Uruguay has appeared in 45 Copa America competitions and has been crowned champions 15 times! There’s a reason they’re known as one of the all-time great footballing countries.

Recent times haven’t been quite so kind to Uruguay. At the 2022 FIFA World Cup, their group contained Portugal, South Korea and Ghana, and was considered to be quite winnable for the South American giant. Unfortunately, an expected draw against South Korea, combined with other results, saw Uruguay make their first group-stage exit since 2002.
