SAUDI NATIONAL FOOTBALL TEAM

The Saudi Arabia national football team, known as the Arabian Falcons or Green Falcons, is a major force in Asian football. Representing both FIFA and the Asian Football Confederation (AFC), they have won the AFC Asian Cup three times (1984, 1988, 1996) and reached the final on six occasions. The team has qualified for the FIFA World Cup seven times, starting in 1994, where they reached the round of 16. Their most recent World Cup campaign in 2022 saw them pull off a stunning 2-1 victory against Argentina, the eventual champions.

Saudi Arabia is set to host the AFC Asian Cup in 2027 and the FIFA World Cup in 2034, marking significant milestones for the nation. Traditionally, their home kit is white with green trim, and the away kit is green with white trim, reflecting the colors of the Saudi flag, though recent changes have swapped these colors.

The team’s best World Cup result came at the first appearance in 1994 when they managed to reach the round of 16. The most recent 2022 FIFA World Cup had its high points, with The Green Falcons defeating eventual champions Argentina 2-1 in the opening group stages.
