The BoyleSports World Grand Prix, a major PDC darts event, traditionally held in Dublin, moved to Leicester, England in 2021. Originating in Kent's Casino Rooms in 1998, it briefly shifted to Rosslare's Crosbie Cedars Hotel in 2000 before settling in Dublin's Citywest. After a pandemic-induced move to Coventry's Ricoh Arena in 2020, the tournament now calls Leicester's Morningside Arena home. Established in 1998, it replaced the earlier World Pairs tournament.

The 2023 BoyleSports World Grand Prix, the 26th edition of the tournament, was held from October 2nd to 8th at the Morningside Arena in Leicester, England. Defending champion Michael van Gerwen lost 3-2 in the second round to Chris Dobey. Luke Humphries claimed his first major TV title by defeating Gerwyn Price 5-2 in the final.

All matches used a double in, double out format, requiring players to start and finish each leg on a double or the bullseye while scoring 501 points. Matches followed a set format, with each set being the best of five legs (first to three). This is the only "double in" tournament on the PDC circuit and, along with the PDC World Darts Championship, the only one using the set format. On April 25, it was announced that the semi-finals and final would be extended to best of 9 and best of 11 sets, respectively.
