The Brisbane Heat is an Australian professional men's cricket team competing in the Big Bash League (BBL). They succeeded the Queensland Bulls, who played in the now-defunct KFC Twenty20 Big Bash. Based in Brisbane, Queensland, the Heat wear teal uniforms and play at the Brisbane Cricket Ground, also known as The Gabba. Darren Lehmann was the inaugural coach, now assisting current head coach Wade Seccombe. The first captain was Australian ODI batter Peter Forrest, with Usman Khawaja, Chris Lynn, Brendon McCullum, Colin Munro, and Daniel Vettori also having captained the team. The Brisbane Heat have earned several honors in the Big Bash League, winning the championship twice in the 2012–13 and 2023–24 seasons. They were runners-up in the 2022–23 season and claimed the Minor Premiership in 2023–24. The team has made finals series appearances in five seasons: 2012–13, 2016–17, 2020–21, 2022–23, and 2023–24. However, they also finished last and received the Wooden Spoon in the 2014–15 season.
