Divine Ikubor, professionally known as Rema, is a Nigerian rapper, singer, and songwriter born on May 1, 2000. He first gained attention with the release of "Dumebi" in 2019. Rema is affiliated with Jonzing World, a record label owned by Nigerian singer D'Prince, associated with Mavin Records. His 2022 single "Calm Down" featuring Selena Gomez peaked at No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 and held the top spot on the U.S. Afrobeats Songs chart for a remarkable 58 weeks until it was overtaken by Tyla's 'Water' on October 21, 2023.

He embarked on his music journey performing in churches alongside Alpha P before gaining attention in 2018. Rema's Instagram freestyle on D'Prince's "Gucci Gang" went viral, catching the eye of D'Prince, who subsequently offered him a record deal. Rema signed with D'Prince's Jonzing World, a subsidiary of Mavin Records led by Don Jazzy, in 2019. His self-titled debut EP "Rema" topped Apple Music Nigeria charts.
