LEEDS FESTIVAL TICKETS
All You Need To Know About Leeds Festival
The Leeds Festival is a yearly music event held in England, specifically in Reading and Leeds. These festivals occur concurrently over the Friday, Saturday, and Sunday of the August bank holiday weekend. The Leeds Festival, also recognized as the Leeds Triennial Musical Festival, was a classical music event held in Leeds, West Yorkshire, England, from 1858 to 1985.
The Leeds event is held in Bramham Park, near Wetherby, on the grounds of a historic house. Headlining acts and most supporting performances are shared between both festival sites, leading to an active exchange. For example, the Friday lineup at Reading switches to become the Saturday lineup at Leeds, and vice versa. Camping options are available at both sites with weekend tickets covering camping amenities. Moreover, single-day tickets can be purchased.
In April 1953, the festival's chairman, Sir George Martin, announced the exclusion of the public from certain performance rehearsals. Previously, Sir George served as the Lord Mayor of Leeds in 1947 and later became the president of the Leeds Chamber of Commerce in 1949. R. Noel Middleton, a Leeds woolen manufacturer and solicitor, held positions in the Festival's Executive Committee and chaired the Programme Committee in 1937, 1947, and 1950. Middleton also chaired the Northern Philharmonic Orchestra, which debuted at the Leeds Festival in 1937 under the patronage of the Princess Royal.
