All You Need To Know About Fatboy Slim

Norman Quentin Cook is an English musician, DJ, and record producer known for his stage name Fatboy Slim and other aliases. Cook played a significant role in popularizing the big beat genre during the 1990s. Initially, in the 1980s, he served as the bassist for the Hull-based indie rock band the Housemartins, who secured a UK number-one single with their a cappella rendition of "Caravan of Love." Following the Housemartins' disbandment, Cook established the electronic group Beats International in Brighton, contributing to the production of the chart-topping single "Dub Be Good to Me." Subsequently, he participated in other musical projects such as Freak Power, Pizzaman, and the Mighty Dub Katz, achieving moderate success.

In 1996, Cook took on the moniker Fatboy Slim, releasing Better Living Through Chemistry to widespread acclaim. Subsequent albums such as You've Come a Long Way, Baby, Halfway Between the Gutter and the Stars, and Palookaville, along with hit singles like "The Rockafeller Skank," "Praise You," "Right Here, Right Now," "Weapon of Choice," and "Wonderful Night," gained both commercial success and critical acclaim. In 2008, he formed the Brighton Port Authority in collaboration with several other established artists, including David Byrne. Cook has achieved the Guinness World Record for the most top-40 hits under different aliases. Additionally, as a solo artist, he has garnered nine MTV Video Music Awards and two Brit Awards.
