​Doechii, born Jaylah Ji'mya Hickmon on August 14, 1998, in Tampa, Florida, is an American rapper, singer, and songwriter renowned for her genre-blending music and dynamic performances. She gained initial recognition with her viral 2020 single "Yucky Blucky Fruitcake," which showcased her unique style and lyrical prowess. 

In 2022, she signed with Top Dawg Entertainment and Capitol Records, becoming the first female rapper on the TDE label. Her 2024 mixtape, Alligator Bites Never Heal, received critical acclaim and won Best Rap Album at the 67th Annual Grammy Awards, making her the third woman to achieve this honour.
