All You Need To Know About Crowded House
Crowded House emerged as a rock group in 1985, originating in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia. The band was initially composed of Neil Finn, a New Zealander handling vocal duties, playing the guitar, and serving as the primary songwriter. Joining him were Australians Paul Hester on drums and Nick Seymour on bass. Over time, additional members such as Tim Finn and Neil Finn's sons Liam and Elroy, as well as Americans Mark Hart and Matt Sherrod, became part of the band's lineup. Notably, Neil Finn and Seymour remained the only consistent members throughout the band's history.
Formed in 1985, Crowded House, an Australian rock band, initially saw success in their home country and New Zealand. Their self-titled debut album brought them recognition in the US, with hits like "Don't Dream It's Over" and "Something So Strong." Further triumphs came in the UK, Europe, and South Africa during the early 1990s with albums like Woodface and Together Alone, along with the compilation album Recurring Dream.
Despite disbanding in 1996 after a series of farewell concerts, the group reunited in 2006, releasing two more albums, Time on Earth and Intriguer, both topping the Australian charts. After a subsequent hiatus, they regrouped in 2020, introducing a new lineup. Their latest album, Dreamers Are Waiting, was released in 2021. With over 15 million albums sold globally, the band was inducted into the ARIA Hall of Fame in 2016.
