Who is Australian Crawl?

Australian Crawl is an iconic Australian rock band that formed on the Mornington Peninsula in 1978. Fronted by James Reyne, the band became one of Australia’s most successful rock acts of the early 1980s, with popular songs including “The Boys Light Up,” “Reckless,” “Errol” and “Things Don’t Seem.” Although the original band split in 1986, Australian Crawl has now returned to the stage in 2026 for the first time in more than 40 years. James Reyne and other former members are performing the band’s classic songs as part of the Red Hot Summer Tour, bringing Australian Crawl’s music to a new generation of fans.

Australian Crawl Australian Tour 2026

Australian Crawl are set to make a major return to the stage on 28 November 2026, performing at the Sydney Opera House Forecourt as part of the On The Steps series. The special concert will bring together James and David Reyne, with three original members of the band sharing the stage for the first time in more than 40 years. They will be joined by other musicians from Australian Crawl’s history, as well as fellow Australian rock favourites Boom Crash Opera. With the iconic Sydney Harbour and Opera House providing the backdrop, the concert will celebrate the music that helped make Australian Crawl such an important part of Australian rock history, giving fans the chance to experience their classic songs in one of the country’s most recognisable outdoor venues.
