All You Need To Know About Architects

Originating from Brighton, East Sussex, Architects is a British metalcore band founded in 2004 by twin brothers Dan and Tom Searle. The current lineup includes Dan Searle on drums, Sam Carter as the vocalist, Alex Dean handling bass, and Adam Christianson on guitar. The band has been under the label Epitaph Records since 2013.

Architects' initial albums reflected the influence of bands like The Dillinger Escape Plan, characterized by a coarse, chaotic, and rhythmically complex sound. They transitioned towards a more melodic post-hardcore style with "The Here and Now" in 2011, but returned to their original sound with "Daybreaker" in 2012, integrating political lyrics. "Lost Forever/ Lost Together" in 2014 marked their breakthrough. Following the passing of guitarist and principal songwriter Tom Searle, the band continued with "Doomsday" in 2017, introducing Josh Middleton as their new lead guitarist. "Holy Hell" in 2018 was their first album without Tom Searle. Their recent releases include "For Those That Wish to Exist" (2021) and "The Classic Symptoms of a Broken Spirit" (2022), the latter becoming their first UK Albums Chart topper.

Best Architects Songs of All Time - Top 3 Tracks

  1. Doomsday- "Doomsday," the band's first release since Tom's passing, lyrically confronts his death as the 'end of their world' while acknowledging the necessity for a new direction.
  2. Hereafter- A deeply personal track for the band, "Hereafter" hints at Architects' journey since Tom's passing. Notably recognized for Sam Carter's powerful vocals intertwined with chilling riffs, the song has garnered significant attention.
  3. Animals- The album represented Dan Searle's view on humanity's failure to change its ways to preserve both the planet and the human race. "Animals," a standout track from the album, signifies the band's continued artistic evolution. In line with the album's theme, "Animals" addresses the existential challenges of contemporary life.

Upcoming European Tours

Architects just revealed that they’ll be doing a tour in Europe in 2024 with Spiritbox and Loathe. They’ll be visiting 11 different places across Europe, and they’ll have the bands Spiritbox and Loathe with them.

Kicking off in January next year, the arena tour is set to launch in Paris, with subsequent stops in Amsterdam, Stockholm, and Milan.

Despite the excitement surrounding the supporting acts, Spiritbox and Loathe, the band disappointingly disclosed the absence of UK tour dates. Frontman Sam Carter made the announcement.
