Hailing from Ladbroke Grove, West London, Tracey gained widespread recognition in 2016 and was highlighted by The Guardian as one of the "best new acts to catch at festivals" that year.

Tracey's initial mainstream EP, Secure the Bag! (2017), made its entry into the UK Albums Chart, securing the thirteenth position. In 2018, his single "Butterflies," featuring British rapper Not3s, propelled him to commercial success, reaching the top 20 on the UK Singles Chart. The self-titled debut album, launched in 2019 under Warner Records, garnered critical praise and reached the third spot on the UK Albums Chart. Notably, the album included his highest-charting solo single, "Ladbroke Grove," which achieved platinum certification by the BPI and reached number three on the UK Singles Chart.
