Riverdance, a theatrical performance showcasing traditional Irish music and dance, was born as an interval act during the Eurovision Song Contest 1994. Featuring Irish dance champions Jean Butler and Michael Flatley, along with the vocal ensemble Anúna, its score by Bill Whelan captivated audiences. Husband and wife production team John McColgan and Moya Doherty subsequently transformed it into a full-fledged stage show, debuting in Dublin on February 9, 1995. Today, Riverdance remains a global touring sensation.

Riverdance embarked on its 25th Anniversary tour in 2020, and by 2023, it had staged over 15,000 performances spanning 49 countries and six continents, delighting more than 30 million spectators. Additionally, in 2021, the animated film "Riverdance: The Animated Adventure" premiered.
